  • Create VM MacOS Tahoe 26

    • Configuring VM MacOS Tahoe 26 on VMware workstation.
    • Step 1:  Download oc4vm-3.0.0.zip

      • Go to https://github.com/DrDonk/oc4vm/releases
      • Download oc4vm-3.0.1.zip from Assets section
      • Extract the downloaded zip file and go to tools/windows/recoveryOS and run, a window will appear.
      • 
      • Input menu number: 7
      • It download image directly from Apple server and ask to select convert virtual image:  select 1 VMware VMDK
      • 
      • It will close the window, Go back to folder where you extracted the zip files (oc4VM-3.0.1/tools/windows), you can see tahoe.dmg file.
      • WMware cannot use .dmg file directory to create VM.  This file need to convert to VMware virtual disk .vmdk (vmware) extension.
    • Step 2: Download QEMU to convert .dmg file to .vmdk

      • In google search qemu download and click qemu.org and click windows/64-bit
      • 
      • click qemu-w64-setup-xxxxx.exe
      • 
      • once download run with default settings.  it will install in C:\Program Files\qemu location.
      • Go back to folder it contain .dmg file and run cmd, it will open command prompt at that location.
      •  copy converstion command: "C:\Program Files\qemu\qemu-img.exe" convert -O vmdk -o compat6 tahoe.dmg tahoe-install.vmdk and paste it to command prompt and enter.
      • Qemu will convert file into .vmdk
      • 
      • Go back to folder and there will be tahoe-install.vmdk file.
      • copy the file.
    • Step 3: copy tahoe-install.vmdk file in vmware/intel folder.

      • Go back to oc4vm-3.0.1/vmware/intel folder and paste the copied file as in step 2. (depend on your process, intel or amd)
      • 
    • Step 4: Configuration in VMWare workstation pro 26H1 for windows,

      • Download and install it.
      • Open VMware workstation.
    • Step 5: Installation of macOS 

      • open a virtual machine from oc4vm-3.0.1\vmware\intel\macos.vmx
      • click on edit and make the following changes.
      • Keep memory = 8GB, processor =2, core processor =2, 
      • Attach macos recovery disk, click add and select hard disk --> SATA (recommended)-->use an existing virtual disk--> click browse and locate tahoe-install.vmdk file, click finish and ok
      • start virtual machine, open core boot menu will appear, select macos Base system
      • Select language: English
      • Select Reinstall macOS tahoe.  Make sure internet is working as it will install online.
      • 
      • Select Macintosh HD and continue.
      • 
      • It will take more than 1 hour and VM will restart multiple times.
      • 
      • choose macintosh HD.
      • 
      • When the installation is complete, finish it with normal setup.  choose country, setup up as new, skip apple account.
      • Mouse will run very slowly.
    • Step 6: Install VMware Tools:

      • Graphics memory only shows 4MB, due to which screen is reduced.
      • To improve, install vmware tools.
      • Open the opencore folder on the top right side/OC4VM/iso/darwin.iso double click to install, double click install vmware tools
      • Follow the instruction on the screen.
      • system extension blocked, open system settings/ click Allow on System software from develope "Vmware, inc" was blocked from loading.
      • 
      • The first vmware tool installation may fail, run the installation second time.
      • Restart macOS.
      • Graphics memory should now increased to 128MB.
      • 
    • Step 7: Enable shared folder, copy picture and set as desktop picture.

      • Go to VMware machine settings/options/shared folders
      • choose Always enabled.
      • Click Add, Always Available.
      • select the folder from your windows computer (create a folder WinShared or any name). next and finish.
      • Restart macOS.
      • open finder/Go/computer/open VMware Shared folders/WinShared
      • Go to windows machine/WinShared/create any file and back to macOS shared folder and check.
      • Copy file and paste in Documents,  right click on picture and click Set Desktop Picture.
    • Step 8: Fix Audio issue:

      • Go to oc4vm-3.0.1/packages/copy VoodooHDA-Tahoe.pkg and paste in shared folder(WinShared)
      • Go to macOS/Finder/Go/Computer/WinShared/copy VoodooHDA-Tahoe.pkg into Documents
      • Before installing need to disable system integrity protection.
      • Restart macOs
      • Select openShai
      • Shell>FS8: (type FS8: and enter)
      • FS8:\>cd EFI/OC/Tools
      • FS8:\EFI\OC\Tools\> dir  View this file: CsrUtil.efi
      • FS8:\EFI\OC\Tools\>CsrUtil.efi disable 0xA85
      • System Intgrity Protetion is disabled (0xA85)
      • FS8:\EFI\OC\Tools\>reset (will restart)
      • 
      • Once restarted, Go to Documents\double click VoodooHDA-Tahoe.pkg and install.
      • open system settings and Allow
      • Install it again.
      • Restart the machine.
      • Sount will start working.

  • USB Not Showing up

    • After insrting USB a window quickly appearing ad disappearing and not showing USB in Finder
    • Solution1 :  Change "Allow Accessories" security setting.
      • Go to System Settings>Privacy & Security
      • Scroll down to accessories
      • Allow Accessories to Connect: select either Atomatically allow when unlocked or Always Allow.
    • Do not use a USB Hub, plug the drive directly into you MAA.  Many drives require more power than a Hub can provide.
    • Use Disk Utility to Force Mount:  The drive may be recognized but not mounted (assigned a folder path)
      • open search on top menu and type disk utility.
      • select view > show all devices.
      • Look for your USB drive in the sidebar.  If it appears, click it and then mount in the top toolbar
      • if it still doesn't mount, select drive and click First Aid to repair potential file system corruption.
    • Check Finder setting:
      • Apple silicon (M1/M2/M3): Restart your MAC.
      • Intel-based Mac:  Shut down the Mac, unplug it, wait 15 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on .

• Forcefully quit a running program.

  • COMMAND-OPTION-ESC : if any program is running which need to forcefully quit, press these three buttons and select the program and click force quit.
• Connect to a Windows network shared folder

  • Go to Finder folder and click Go/connect to server
  • enter url smb://ip/foldername (smb://10.112.0.170/IT-Folder) and click connect
  • it will connect to shared IT-Folder folder.
• How to remove any application:

  • Open application (Malwarebytes) for Mac. If you have multiple apps open, make sure Malwarebytes is the one selected.
  • At the top of your Mac screen, click Help, then click Uninstall Malwarebytes.

• How to remove Kaspersky 

  • Double click on "Uninstall Kaspersky" and confirm your choice by clicking on "uninstall".
  • Enter the admin's name and password and click ok
